This was my first “Gender Reveal” session and it was so much fun!!! Definitely the best kept secret knowing the gender of their baby before the shoot and being there to witness and capture their reaction as they discovered that they will be having another girl.  I can’t think of too many things more exciting than that!!! I felt so honored both as their friend and their photographer. I cannot wait to meet their new daughter.

So blessed to have been a part of such a special moment in the lives of this wonderful family.

She was so tiny and precious just like her sister was.  She was also so happy and content as long as her dad was right there holding a heater next to her to keep her warm.

BUT, what we can do is make it as perfect as possible, whenever possible. Hopefully making the good days outweigh the bad.

They say, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” Well, today I am making up a big batch of  lemonade for my son Nathon. Nathon recently turned 9 and spent his entire birthday in bed with the flu and a fever of 103.  Needless to say, he cried himself to sleep saying it was the worst day ever.  I’m pretty sure he will always remember that he slept through his entire sleepover birthday party and spent the day in bed. That is why today I am giving him a SURPRISE birthday party!!! I can’t wait to see the look on his face when he walks in the Fun Center and hears his basketball team yell, “SURPRISE!” And may the words he whispers to me tonight before he goes to bed be, “This was the best day ever!”

We all know that the bad days are going to creep in. I tell my boys that those days will just make them stronger and that there will always be better days ahead. There is a photo book that I made of them when they were ages 5 and 3 and in the back of the book it reads…..

Dare to dream big,

Step outside of the box that surrounds you,

Do it with confidence and faith,

Dare to love,

Love God with all you have,

Love to live,

Dare to be yourself,

Sing with all of your voice,

Dance in the rain,

Use every talent you have been given,

Dare to have fun,

To light up a room with your smile,

This adorable little girl is Presley.   It was so nice to have her in front of my camera again. Presley was the very first one year old that I ever photographed a “Cake Smash” for.  She was also one of my first little clients to call me “Na”.  I love how my little clients always seem to call me “Na” because my son Nathon has a similar nickname, “Na Na”, given to him by his friends.

I recently had a fun maternity shoot with this wonderful family!! They were such good sports!!!  So, I was thinking, why not continue the fun and have a little contest.

Shelly’s due date is 3-11-13. If anyone can guess the ACTUAL birth date, I will give this family a FREE shoot to have their family photo taken again with their new addition.

Kailey was here yesterday for announcement photos for her new baby brother or sister! So excited that her parents April & Gerard, and her brother Hayden will have a new little addition to their family!! Of course, I am also very excited to be gaining a new client. I  look forward to our upcoming maternity session and newborn photos of their new little one this summer.

This year just keeps getting better and better!!!
